Downloaded Movie Capacity

I am fairly new to all of this and especially the digital store. I am preparing to jump into the Terra waters and with the news of the 12TB entry level system, I am trying to figure out how much storage capacity I need, right now.

Is there a simple way of knowing how many GB each movie is, or the total collection, without going into each individual movie?

Thanks!

K uses about 60GB for a 4k movie to quote 100 movies per 6TB of storage. I am not aware of any way to get a collection count though.

33GB for HD and 6.5Gb for SD. Some movies offer two or more cuts, theatrical, director’s cut and other, then they have extensive amount of extras. These can be over 100GB for a single movie. Blade Runner for instance have the director’s final cut in 4K HDR, that’s around 60GB then you have the theatrical and European cuts in HD for a 70GB file. If you also want the work print cut and other extras, its an additional 38GB file for the SD version. Fortunately, you can select which versions you want to download. The Blues Brothers on the hand offers the theatrical cut and the director’s cut in 4K HDR in a single 160GB file.

I think 12TB will get you a healthy 150 or so 4K films and double that in HD. But fear none, the download speeds on the Terra are ridiculous. You can always delete films to free up space and download them later if want to. I have gigabit internet. I can download a 4K movie in well under 10 mins and the HD version in almost half that.

So I currently have 178 HD titles owned and downloaded, with another 10 in queue. But will be adding Disney movies once I get the Strato/Terra system.

Will just keep DVDs on the old 3u server.

LOL! I am stuck with a max 100 Mbps!! And probably pay more than you. It currently takes about 3 hours for an HD movie to download. Gonna be several months before I can get my Terra loaded up!!!

Thanks for the info Substance
