I thought it might be something I have so I googled it, not what I have upstairs (I really need a clear out LOL). Found this though, maybe I missed what you're asking for (tad tired) so apologies if I got this wrong:

With the exception of the Kaleidescape 1U Server, all in-production products sold by Kaleidescape have a pinhole reset button located on the rear panel. To activate the reset button, insert a paperclip in the pinhole, and then press and hold. The indicator on the right side of the network connector starts blinking. Release the reset button. The player then restarts with the factory default DHCP setting and removes a static IP configuration. If a static IP address was set for use with a control system, the control system may lose communication with the player. Images showing the exact location of the reset button for each product can be found below.

On Kaleidescape Strato, the network reset button is located next to the SERVICE port on the rear panel.

Jim, for a Cinema One first generation, is there a way to do a reset to DHCP?
 
I don't recall if that component had a reset pinhole on the rear panel, but it's between the HDMI and Analog Audio on the Cinema One (2nd Gen). You might consider emailing Support and have them check their records for the last known IP address that was used when the C1 was connected online. If it has power and is working, connect it online, then contact K Support, if they can see it online, they should be able to check the current IP address for you.

If it doesn't connect online, or you don't want to wait for an answer from Support, you might consider trying the serial port reset option, (if it has a serial port). (not sure it has one)

HOW DO I CONFIGURE NETWORK SETTINGS FROM THE SERIAL PORT OF A PREMIERE SYSTEM COMPONENT?​

This article applies to Premiere system components only.
If the IP address of a Premiere system component cannot be determined, and you need to reset the IP address via serial connection, connect the RS-232 port of the component to a standard DB-9 serial port of a computer with a DB-9 serial cable. Use a straight-through cable for players and a crossover cable for servers. Next, configure a serial-capable terminal emulator (e.g. HyperTerm or PuTTY) to 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit (8N1), and no flow control. For a player or disc vault, set the speed to 19,200 bps and for a server set it to 115,200 bps.
Now execute the following commands (followed by [ENTER]) in the terminal emulator to view or set the network settings:
To get the device's current network settings:
01/1/GET_NETWORK_SETTINGS:
To set a device to DHCP:
01/1/SET_NETWORK_SETTINGS:0::::::
To set a device to a static address, in this case IP address 192.168.1.222, Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0, Gateway of 192.168.1.1 and primary and secondary DNS of 4.2.2.2 and 192.168.1.2 respectively:
01/1/SET_NETWORK_SETTINGS:1:192.168.1.222:255.255.255.0:192.168.1.1:4.2.2.2:192.168.1.2:
Once you have changed a component's IP address, reboot it for the changes to take effect.
NOTE: The M300 Player, and the out-of-production 1080p Mini Player do not have a serial port.

Thanks Jim for the quick response. I am able to see the static IP address on the systems screen on this Cinema One. My attempt to access it via web browser and via ping both came back with no response though unfortunately.

This Cinema One does have a serial port and a USB port below the ethernet port. What type of a cable do I need to use in order to do the Serial port access option?

Ah...that doesn't sound good. The cable needed to run the serial connection is indicated above in K's article (although not sure if that will help given your second sentence above). I hope it works out!

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the above statement, but if you can currently see the static IP, why not just assign a laptop a temporary IP address on the same network and change the Cinema One back to DHCP?

Is this a KSystem-120? I had this joy a few weeks ago, even putting myself on the same network wouldn't allow me to connect. Serial would only show me the boot and not allow any inputs. In the end it was a combo of link local and luck I think and it brought up an installer menu which showed me all the usual settings. Once changed in there I was able to bring it into my wider system and roll from there.

Yep. A system 120. I'd love to get your help to get it reset. Sounds like the exact same issue. Tried to get my computer on the same network and it still wouldn't allow connection. Any guidance on how to get access to installer menu would be super appreciated!
 
I wish I knew exactly what I did TBH. The only thing I do know was that when I got the installer menu, it wasn't via my main LAN. It was a direct Ethernet connection between my iPad Pro (with dongle for Ethernet set to manual and put on the same network with no gateway set) and the 120.

I think I used Safari but try chrome too.

I found the 120's IP by plugging that in originally into my LAN, powering up and going to http://my-kaleidescape.local/lskd.html in a browser.

I have these URLs in my history too:


That last one is the IP change URL page where xxxxx is the last 5 digits of the serial number

I was able to access the installer menu without a password.

Success!!! Was able to use a patch cable, direct connect, and set my PC IP to the same range as the Cinema One, and logged in directly via it's IP address (as it was shown on screen).

Thanks everyone for your help. It looks like this system might not have seen the light of day since 2017. Does anyone have recommendations on how to force a system update?

If you just put it on your network so that it can access the Internet, it will automatically update its software.

Hi,
i´m currently doing some repair work on a M700 disk vault. The unit has a defective ethernet port, so i need to get access to that board.
It´s buried under the caroussel, so i need to take the whole bottom plate incl. the caroussel out. There are a couple of flat-head screws on the bottom plate and i think i removed them all. I can lift the bottom plate at the back of the unit, but it still seems to stick somewhere at the front of the device.
Any advice how to get the whole plate out?
