Hi all -

For me, this is one of those "once seen, can't unsee" things, and then you go looking for it and see it in countless scenes.

I'm not sure what is at fault here. Possibly it is the file, possibly it is something else in the chain (Anthem AVM90, Samsung QA65Q60RA), but in many scenes where Deadpool's mask/helmet is brightly lit, there is a strong shimmering effect to be seen in the texture.

I'd appreciate it if those with better displays could check at around 1 hour 30 minutes and 34 seconds into the movie (specifically, exactly on the word "they're" when Deadpool says "Disney brought him back, they're..."), where this shimmering is very evident on the side of the mask that is lit. This is definitely not simply a natural effect of the light on the texture - it's a digital artifact.

I'm hoping that maybe there is something in my TV settings that is doing some processing that is causing this.

Kind regards,

Gerald.

I watched this movie in DV on my Sony A90J using DV bright. Chapter 7 had brightness pumping during the scene which was annoying as if the tv had a hard time tone mapping the bright areas. Switched TV to force HDR10 instead and set to HDR bright, and no issue with that chapter. Never had that issue with any other DV movie from K or any other DV movie on disc.

Just to bring some closure to this. After extensive playing around with the settings, changing the "Picture Mode" to "Movie" from "Standard" fixed this issue.

I watched the movie and re-demo'ed some scenes. No issues with madVR and JVC NZ900 that stood out to me.
