Covers do not stay on

Hello

just got a Strato: still have April firmware

I cannot get the covers screen to stay on, even though screen saver is set to off

The covers come up but then the screen goes black after 15 minutes or so

anyway to fix this so covers stay on?

I also have a 2nd gen Cinema One system: 2 Cinema Ones and a Disc Vault

The screen saver doesn't actually cause your screen to go black. It just replaces the current view with an animated Kaleidescape jewel.

The screen going black is an indication that your system is entering idle mode which happens automatically once the system has been sitting unused for 30 minutes. There is no option to disable this or change the timing of it.

There are a number of processes that only occur when a system is in this idle mode. For example, movie guide updates and system updates only happen when in idle mode. Additionally, if you have active downloads, their speeds are throttled when the downloading device isn't idle.

Disabling idle mode would actually prevent your system from updating in a timely manner and cause downloads to take an inordinate amount of time.

Not to mention that you would miss out on the mesmerizing display of the Kaleidescape logo slowly forming, breaking apart, and reforming over and over. Pour yourself a drink, sit back, and just....watch. Which tile will move first?! Where will the logo form next?! Riveting as any bit of modern cinema! ;)
