Cinema One (2nd Gen) Audio Output

Here is the problem: Movies with only DTS audio don't get any sound from the sound bar. The K player is hooked to an HDMI input on the TV, and a Sonos Beam is hooked up through HDMI-ARC. The Beam does not support DTS.

Is there any way to get the Cinema One to bitstream Dolby, but decode DTS? It looks like it's all or nothing in the options. It works if set to PCM Stereo, but then Dolby digital is also converted to PCM.

I think the TV is reporting that it supports all audio formats (which it does), but the sound bar does not support DTS.

I was thinking of trying an "HD Fury Dr HDMI 4K" to override the EDID. Would this work? What will the K player do if it sees an EDID that says DTS is unsuppported while the audio output is set to bitstream?

You should be able to set the unit to player decode, assuming the tv and beam support 5.1 channel pcm.

Unfortunately, that won't work either. It is limited to Dolby Digital 5.1 or 2ch PCM, which is pretty lame.

There is no setting on the Cinema One (2nd Gen) that would allow you to output a Dolby Digital bitstream but force a DTS bitstream to PCM.

If the audio setting of the Cinema One is set for bitstream pass-through and it receives an EDID reporting that DTS is unsupported it should convert DTS audio tracks to PCM.

Thanks, John. That's what I was hoping to hear.
