changing CMOS Batteries on 1U Server, M300, KVAULT M700

After nine years i want to change the CMOS Batteries (CR2032) in my three devices. What happens if they are empty and they are not connected to the mains? Has anybody done this procedure?
 
I looked on the K website in the support section and didn't see anything regarding changing these batteries.
However, I did find an interesting article about CMOS batteries from HP.
Granted, this is for a Laptop / Desktop, but very informative and I'm sure it's similar in process.
I hope this helps,


I personally have replaced the batteries in all my equipment and found it to be a very straight forward process.
