  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Marketplace"? 🤔

All registered users can reply to other members' posts here in the Marketplace, to respond as potential buyer or ask questions of the seller.
However, only members who have paid to become "Premium" members or "Patrons" can make a new "for sale" post here in Marketplace.

Premium memberships can be purchased for as little as $10... a very reasonable fee in order to sell equipment here, far lower than the seller's fee would be on eBay or Audiogon or other sites. Our site doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. This small fee is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

SOLD: Brand NEW in box GRANDFATHERED system from Authorized dealer

Okay. This is what you have all been waiting for. I think.....

I have a couple of systems for sale. One of them is my demo system but hasn't been turned on in probably 5 years. I just powered it up the other day and found that one of the three drives is bad. Other than that, operation is good (no scratches or dents). I am an Authorized dealer so I can get a replacement hard drive for the demo system.
K-server 1500, M-player 500 and KVAULT-10
For this system, I would like $2,000.00

Now for the big one! Brand new in boxes. I just cut the seal so I can take pictures of server and player. Kept the disc changer sealed. These units have never been plugged in and hasn't been taken out of the plastic.
Kcinema-1-hc
Kplayer-M500-A
Kvault-10
3TB storage (3 x 1TB drives)

I think that $5,000.00 for this package is fair. That being said, I will entertain all reasonable offers.

You might want to add the price for that second list of components.

A pressing question for never powered on Cinema 1's (or Premiere servers)... Is the out of date software on these systems still able to connect to the K backend to update itself? I could possibly see issues with api changes, expired certificates, etc.

That is a good point. I should probably register the system on the network and do some updates. I figured it is better to keep everything sealed n a box. I am not sure what the Kscape policies are on all of this. If i were to sell it to even an authorized dealer, can they register it as it was purchased through my dealership? Can it be used towards a trade in without being initially setup and registered.

I figured i would start in this forum before calling support and see what the feeling is out there.

I have updated the system and is now running the latest KOS. I have not registered the system yet but it seems that it is all ready to go. I can register this system on behalf of anyone interested in the purchase of the gear.

Considering that the average used price I've paid for KVAULT-10's is 150 and 450 for the M500, i think your prices are on the high side.

You can get used KSERVER-1500 for 500-1500 all day on eBay.

You might also want to add drive capacity to your listing, didn't see that anywhere.

Yes. It is true that there are units on Ebay but i would never buy one. You never know where that unit came from. coul dbe stolen, broken or who knows what else.

I am an authorized dealer and the serial numbers are registered. One is a demo system with very little to no use and the othere system is brand new in a box. I;m not being greedy. Just listing for what i feel i have seen people selling for here.

In short. My price is negotiable and you'd be getting good equipment. I would think that the brand new in box system would be worth something so I'll take what i can get for it.

Both systems have small drive capacity. Both systems have 1TB drives.

Naturally you should do you due diligence.
I bought my first 3U from ebay and it was listed as working, but the drives in it had crashed so the os wouldn't load.
The machine still worked though, so i made a claim, thinking i would get a partial refund, ended getting a full refund and i could keep the unit.

The next one i bought was from a seller in here, and it's been working perfectly, despite being used. Seller was not a dealer. And i paid less for that 3U filled with 2TB. Drives, than what you're asking for just your 1U.

I ended up paying more, but only because i also bought a DV700 from him and 4 M500.

I agree your prices are likely too high to get any real interest from our members, but certainly no harm in trying (we laughed at one of my neighbors when he listed his house for $3.5 mil after buying it 2 years ago for $1.6 mil. He said he was trying to catch one of the influx buyers to Florida from the Northeast. We laughed......it sold in 12 days......above his asking price.....4 bidders.)

Ya never know!

I did of course look at a lot of post here in the forum before putting a price to anything. I'm told that this is equipment can be purchased on ebay for a few hundred dollars but when i look in this group, i see much higher prices. I have seen individual components in the thousands. I'm just looking for a fair price for equipment that is licensed and in very good working condition seeing as they were never used.

I do appreciate your feedback.

I live in Toronto and real estate here is crazy too. Even up in cottage country, things are out of control since covid. People buying properties sight ounseen for well over asking.

Understood, and just to be clear my only interest is helping you as a member of the forum. There are a lot of higher asking prices, but that doesn't reflect what they actually sold for when they finally sold (assuming they did sell, some owners indicate item Sold, but decide to keep the item rather than going too low).

In any case, in the end, these are your items, your timing, and your pricing, hopefully you find a solid buyer.

Jim

According to what I was told, the Seller is not responding, so I'll assume these are sold.

I'm closing this thread. If by chance the Seller still has an item for sale, they can relist.
