I've bookmarked the following scenes as my favorite for home theater demos... happy to share the bookmark files if anyone wants them.
  • Star Wars (IV): Attack on the Death Star
  • Star Wars (V) - Empire Strikes Back: Speeder Bike chase
  • Star Wars (I) - Phantom Menace: "Podrace"
  • The Incredibles: "100 Mile Dash"
  • Chicago: "Cell Block Tango"
  • Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: "Quidditch Match / Rogue Bludger"
  • Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark: "Golden Idos / Boulder chase"
  • Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron: Opening montage
Anyone else care to post their favorite scenes when someone asks to see what the home theater can do?

My favorites at this time are:

1. The Matrix - Lobby shoot out scene.
This my favorite because of the location of the guns and the bullet shells hitting the floor. Also, the amount of damage in the scene is great!
2. Terminator 3 - chase scene with multiple vehicles.
This one is great for car sounds, crashes, low bass and the big rig crashing at the end.
3. Spiderman 2 - part where the Doctor starts up his experiment for the second time in the abandoned warehouse.
I like this one for the low end bass caused by the start of the experiment and then a decent fight scene between the spider and the doc!

Hi Alex,

Welcome to the forum!

Any chance you have some favorite scene files for those discs? I'd love to add those scenes to my Demo set without searching for the scenes.

if not, maybe a chapter number for each?

Thanks!

Post from a probable new owner!

Hello! I'm new here and I am just about to pull the trigger on a Kscape system! :)

My thought for a movie demo is the scene from LOTR, Return of the King Extended DVD when the big fight is raging and the massive elephants are running around. Its the scene when (I think) Eowyn pretty forcefully informs the Witch King that she is "no man"! Terrific video and audio quality.

Welcome JerryL!

That's a good one I'm going to look for.

I also just found that theres a sequence early in "Cars" where they're introducing Lightning and showing his first race that's incredible... great visuals, great surround sound... I'll try to make a scene file to share.

I'm dusting the cobwebs off this old thread...
How old is it? Well, the post above from our oh-so-prolific JerryL was his very first on the forum as a soon-to-be Kscape owner!
I'm looking for more ideas. Some of you super-dealers must have some go-to scenes for showing off your demo rooms, no?

(p.s. Mendolsohn's Home Entertainment (formerly Robb Report H.E.) did a short update to their recommended best home theater scenes. See it here. I totally agree with that scene from Casino Royale - it's amazing. And you'll find it in my favorite scene file if you don't already have it marked.)

Transformers

Yeah, 184 posts later I had to look twice at the post before I realised the date!

Not that I have any scene files for you but I would rate "Transformers". The image quality of this flick has impressed me for a mere standard definition DVD. (Haven't seeen the Blu-ray release yet)

Chapter 2 -Opening scene - Qatar - Middle east (Some great lighting and focus pulls, excellent camera work), Moves into the base attack, awesome special effects

Chapter 8 - Back in the desert - Battle with the scorpion (Again, awesome special effects, camera work and hardcore action)

Good sound effects producing solid bass response. sound tracks to match....

Did I say how good the movie is? :)

Thanks for the kind words Josh.

If you guys want some really fantastic demo material stuff, have a look at the HDDVD or BR of Happy Feet- the image quality is astounding and the sound quality is nice too. Its not necessarily too whiz bang but I think wowing people with big explosions is getting a little old anyway.

Transformers is great too. The HDDVD image quality is amazing. There is currently no BR of this- but I hope this will get rectified by the time K puts its BR system out there.

Btw- remember the movie Desperado with Antonio Banderas? I believe its the opening scene in a bar with a lot of gun fire, if memory serves, the surround track is very exciting on this.

I have two scripts ready to go: "That looks great" and "That sounds great" plus I like to have a "famous movie quotes" script that are just one liners.

Can you share your scripts? or at least tell us what scenes you have in there?

can you post your scripts? It's now easy to export them and then upload them here.

I don't feel comfortable posting all my favorites. This is a showroom, and I don't want my competition to get my tricks. ;) But, here is a few scenes from the Sci-Fi section. some of these went into my "action" script, some went into the "That sounds Great" and some are just funny bits. There are some repeats, but you might want to look if you have any of these:

A.I.: Artificial Intelligence
Aliens
The Arrival
Back to the Future
The Day After Tomorrow
Flash Gordon
Galaxy Quest
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
I, Robot
Independence Day
The Island
The Matrix
The Matrix Reloaded
Minority Report
Next
Robocop
Star Trek 1: The Motion Picture
Star Trek: Generations
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars Episode VI: The Return of the Jedi
The Time Machine
The Time Machine
V for Vendetta
War of the Worlds
X2: X-Men United

One my favorite demos is the I Robot scene where he gets attacked while driving through the tunnel. The bass is awesome as well as the visuals. Another great sound demo is the Jericho Missile scene from Iron Man. We use that one to demo seat shakers.
