AVA being the new kid on the block has released a new version of their remote with a dynamic keypad and macros for registering actions across different devices. Once set-up, flows can be created in minutes. .
This isn't the cheapest unit and drivers are still being developed but the K driver works great (IP and IR).
The K (android) app can be launched which is pretty cool for browsing titles, viewing downloads etc and it's compatible with Josh.AI. I have a dealer demo and can answer any questions. Loving it so far.

What else are you controlling with it? I’m in the midst of looking for a remote/automation system but haven’t settled on something yet.

Within the cinema room, I have flows registering actions for my projector, anthem processor, movie poster wall (LG Frame) and either the Kaleidescape player or Apple TV. All drivers are IR with the exception of Kaleidescape (the Ava brain device sits in the server room). Remote also integrates well with Sonos and Spotify.
Currently AVA can replicate what control4 does in the same room with the exception of Lutron lighting (driver isn’t available yet but I can run the android app).
Here’s a DB driver list of compatible devices - AVA Device Database

Can this control music playback by my Reavon SACD Playback and roon (using Trinnov endpoint). My C4 does this now, and I will be interested in this

Yes, although the Reavon and Trinnov drivers look to be IR only for now, so an AVA brain will need to be used as I assume your kit is in a server room/rack.
The AVA flow functionality can switch on the Trinnov processer & Reavon player, select the correct input/source for both and then launch the Roon app on the remote. The dynamic keypad can control the Trinnov volume & Reavon player navigation as Roon isn't fully integrated like Sonon/Spotify yet. However, the Roon app can be controlled via the touch screen on the remote.

I'm also using the AVA Cinema Remote. How do you make it do a long press on "Select" for the Apple TV ?

Also, do you have to restart the AVA app or even reboot Android almost every 24 hours?

Hi
I’ve not had to restart the device once since it’s been in use and not received any reports in line with reboots.

Have you tried adding UI buttons for the Apple driver to skip, fast forward, jump 5 seconds, etc?

FYI - Strato V works great with the IR driver. Not tried IP yet.

I'm very interested in this remote, but is this only available to buy from dealers/customs installers who you have to pay to program it? Or is there a way for it to be sold to consumers who have access to its library of devices for self programming?

Remotes are sold and serviced via registered dealers. Officially, adding drivers and registering flows should be managed by the dealer only.

I really wish that there was a “Pro Level” remote that’ll allow consumers to program. I was able to get my hands on a URC Complete Control system back in the day where a dealer was able to pass the software along to me. I’m constantly tweaking the remote, especially when adding a new component to the system. The problem with it now is that it’ll only work on a 32-bit Windows operating system and it only has RS-232 and IR capabilities no provisions for IP programming, which is what modern systems are using nowadays.

have you taken a look at Unfolded Circle Remote 3? Haven't received mine yet, but may be what you're looking for.

It's being discussed over here on this same area of the forum.

Looks like Lutron is now supported (Homeworks QS) - interested in this to switch from Control4 for the triggers for play, pause/intermission, and end credits.

I only see support for IR on this database. Does that mean IP is not supported for most devices?
There’s a list of drivers available on their website - IP Drivers | AVA.com , and the attached image looks to have more manufacturers listed than the website.

Apple & Sonos IP drivers should be available in the near future.

Flows are supported but I don’t believe triggers based off events are yet.

curious to try with dealer. Using Ava Cinema Remote with Josh and with Sonos and Apple TV, all are IP control and not using the AVA OS in this case

The linked list shows a very limited number of companies that are supported, but the inclosed photo shows a whole lot more. If that means that most in that photo are currently not supported, I’ll wait until their platform matures before I pull the trigger.
