Here the paragraph before the last one on page 2 on this document directly from Lumagen’s official website in Jim’s (Lumagen) own words. It is clearly stated the data arriving to the display will be identical and there should not be any visible difference.
The following 2 paragraph explains the 5000s series would have much less electrical noise leakage into the display device. It is not mentioned in the paper but I will go further and add the electrical noise would also leak into source devices since the grounds are shared among all connected devices. This reduced electrical noise leakage could result in a “slight” image improvement.
“Cleaner power stages will however lower the electrical noise on the HDMI output and reduce jitter. This will maybe improve (faster) handshaking with HDMI (source>sink) and reduce cross noise contamination to other equipment (relevant on poorly designed hardware).”
These are my words from my previous post. Carbon copy of Jim’s comments with different words.
I don’t want to post links here. Type “Audiophile linear power supply” in search in fleabay. I said $200, I was wrong. They are $70 to $150 with free shipping from China.
This is my last post on this matter. I didn’t want to start this. My very first comment on this was not at ATVX. I said it wasn’t true that the new ATV is cheaper built than the previous generation. I explained why it should have better potential. I apologize if my comments offended anyone.
And for the record, I hold an electrical and computer engineering degree, have been building distribution and transmission lines, substations, all sort of commercial and utility scale energy/power generation and storage systems throughout the United States. I know a thing or two about power.
