    • Use the "Conversation" feature (known as "private messaging" on other forums) to communicate directly with any of the other users here.
    • Access the Files area. The "resources" area of the forum contains many "Favorite Scene" and Script files that can dramatically increase the enjoyment of your Kaleidescape system. Go directly to great scenes in your favorite movies, created by other owners, and add automation to playback of your system with Scripts.

It's easy and free to register for the forum. Just click the "Register" button in the upper right corner of this page, and follow the instructions there.

  • 🔷Why can't I make a new post here in "The Marketplace"? 🤔

All registered users can reply to other members' posts here in the Marketplace, to respond as potential buyer or ask questions of the seller.
However, only members who have paid to become "Premium" members or "Patrons" can make a new "for sale" post here in Marketplace.

Premium memberships can be purchased for as little as $10... a very reasonable fee in order to sell equipment here, far lower than the seller's fee would be on eBay or Audiogon or other sites. Our site doesn't sell ads or sell user's information. This small fee is the only source of funds for the site to offset the costs it takes to run the forum.

For more information on purchasing a Premium or Patron membership, please see the Account Upgrades section of your user profile.

SOLD: Alto 6tb

correct but to amalgamate the alto and strato for the one movie menu you need the co star.

I thought this was only to see movies from the disc vault in a one movie menu, and that if being used without any premiere components the strato/alto pair seamlessly

(I’m not at my house at the moment otherwise I’d double check)

I think you're right Rooster. I just sold an Alto (no Vault) and had it paired with a Strato/Terra for the year+ I owned it. Always had a single menu and never had a co-star - and movies on the Alto played as seamlessly on the Strato as from the Terra.

Also, IME, Only way to "direct" HD and SD movie downloads to the Alto with a 6/12 TB Strato (or Terra) in the system is to unplug the 6/12 TB Strato (or Terra) and then start the d/l on the Alto. Always worked flawlessly for me - and it was great saving the Strato/Terra only for HDR/UHD (as a 6TB Alto will hold ~160 HD movies.)

fwiw, unless your attic never gets above ~75 Fahrenheit, keeping your strato there could potentially shorten its life. You may want to consider a cooler remote location.

The Alto's ability to "catalog" would be redundant because the Premiere system already Catalogs whenever a new disc is imported.
Please excuse my ignorance, but what does an Alto 6TB do that an M300, or an M700 won't do in a Premiere system?
I have two K5000 Servers with 84TB's of storage.
The M300 doesn't have a disc-slot, and the M700 (when connected as a vault) will always try to import, so the option of cataloging-only wouldn't be redundant. It would only be redundant if you also have an M500.

So I have a Cinema One 2nd Gen w/ Co-Star and it lets me send all the SD and HD stuff to it while the Terra only gets the HDR. Seems crazy that the Alto doesn't have a similar feature to direct which downloads go where. I'd always been on the fence with selling the Cinema One and Co-Star to pick up an Alto to keep it in the same product line instead, but if what you say is true that sounds like a big hassle.

I can ship to the UK.

I have a tentative agreement to sell (interestingly, to someone in the UK). He’s supposed to let me know today- I’ll send you a PM if it falls through

I too am interested if this Alto can be shipped to the UK. Third in line is not going to be third time lucky though I guess lol
