4K to digital 4K

So we know the blu-ray to 4K upgrade and prices but what if you already own a 4k disk, do you really want to buy it again? Is there a way (Ultraviolet at one time) to buy discounted 4K if you own the physical 4K disk?
cheers.

Most 4K discs come with 2K discs too. I use those to get the discount. I have a few 4K discs that didn’t come with 2K versions. No chance on those.

Yeah it’s my 4K movie collection I’m more worried about, I really can’t afford to buy the strato and then buy the same movies on 4K again….unless they are around 4.99 per disk.

Also, this D2D program with the ability to use an external drive is a game changer for me. I’m currently buying the 4K physical disc, rip the 4K content in my Zappiti, rip the 2k in my Plex and when K has a sale, buy the 4K version. Now I can just forget about buying 4K physical discs and just stick with Blu-ray as they are cheaper and I just pay for the conversion costs if they are under $4.92.

Before you get into Strato, remember that their Terra storage is ridiculously expensive. A 12 TB storage is a decent size but you will have to consistently add and remove titles due to the limited storage space. Currently you cannot view all your titles you own in your K system, only what you have downloaded. You can view all your titles with your app or web interface, but that’s really not ideal.

I'm leaving the last post up.

Jim
