4K HDR for old movies

I rewatched Predator (1987) last night. What a pleasure it was to see that movie in 4K HDR full quality from my Stratos. I have watched that movie many times from Blu-ray and the 4K HDR Kscape version was amazing. Hard to remember what the 35mm movie experience was like in 1987 but this may have been better.

Thanks Kscape!

That's interesting to know. 4K or even HD remasters can often be hit or miss, so that's good to know about Predator. Funny how I got so used to watching some of those movies on VHS or DVD that watching them in HD/4K can seem like watching them for the first time!

Another shining example that ever K owner MUST check out is Lawrence of Arabia. Still not available on disc AFAIK, but watching it on your "big screen" at home is simply epic. The remaster and digital transfer they did was gorgeous.

Interesting topic, thanks for sharing. I will definitely check out predator and LOA. Would love to hear further recommendations

I cannot vouch for how "Real" or "Fake" the 4k film scan was for this title. However I can vouch that it was far more of a movie like experience than the blu-ray. Super fun movie!

Always read reviews of the disc versions. Predator got a 'finally a good transfer, the Blu-ray sucked' while Terminator 2 got a 'who the hell fell asleep during the transfer' (paraphrasing of course)
