Wow. If you could blow air, along with temperature variations, that might make for a pretty cool system...
Does K offer a control signal output that could be read for something like that?
 
No, we don’t have any explicit support for a system of this type.

This sounds like a similar scenario to D-BOX seating — an additional effect that must be synchronized with the movie. D-BOX does this by monitoring the digital audio output from the player, from which they can establish exactly where you are in the movie and sync up the seats accordingly.

Our control protocol does supply a playback position in minutes and seconds, but I suspect that that data might be just a little bit too course to synchronize something like a wind effect.

So is the control protocol for the playback position continuously set out, or is it sent only when someone pauses or something like that?
 
There’s a command to enable continuous output, and then it’s sent once per second if memory serves.
