1500U I'm having issues losing connection

Im having issues with my M500 or 1500U losing connection while playing a movie. My M500 will light up orange, 1500U server stays blue and after a while, 10-15 minutes, M500 will come back on only to lose connection again after a few minutes. I emailed K-scape and Rusty said it was probably my 1500U and the power supply going bad.
Anyone else ever have this issue and was it the power supply?

I've had a similar issue with a 3U Server.
What I discovered is that if I leave it running continuously or turn it on at least an hour ahead of using it, I don't have the connection loss issue any more.
Not sure if this is the same issue you're having, but it could be worth a try.

Yes, I know of two 1U's that had similar issues and it turned out to be a power supply issue (could be the actual PSU, or the board it connects to, and the only way to know for sure is by a PSU change).

It could also be a cable issue, a switch port issue, or some other Player or server problem (ethernet usually).

When troubleshooting, always start by eliminating the simple things (cables, connections, etc..).

Hi Joey808,

To Jim's point, if your M500 and 1U Server are configured with static IP addresses (obviously both on the same subnet), you can use a standard Ethernet cable to connect them directly to each other reducing the configuration to a single cable and the 2 components (bypassing any switches, routers, in-wall cabling, etc.).

You will need to use an IR remote to initiate playback (unless you're using RS-232 control), but testing with this configuration should give you a good idea if the issue is due to something with the original network configuration (if the issue disappears while testing), or one of the 2 components and likely the server (if the issue remains during testing).
