“new” collection showing titles imported a long time ago—any way to clear?

My premiere system hasn’t been used in a while, and is showing titles imported quite a long time ago in the system’s “new” collection.

I looked so I could quote numbers, and 2289 out of the total of 2338 titles on the system are in the new list. The last import prior to today was in 2019.

I’ve tried changing the “New albums stay in the New collection for“ setting with no change.

Is there a way to fix this?

Sure.
Just go to the browser, change the selector to “new,” select all movies that you don’t want in the new collection, scroll to the bottom and change the “add to” selector from “favorites” to “played,” and smash the “add to collection” button.
By definition, any movie not in the “played” collection is considered “new.”

Or ... you could play all 2289 movies, one at a time, and they will automatically move to your Played collection :ROFLMAO:

You don't even have to select the "Played" collection from the dropdown. You can just click the "Move to Played" button that is added to the page when you're looking at the New collection.

As you've discovered, this setting only applies to imported music CDs and not movies.

Every movie on your system will always be in either the "New" or the "Played" collection. So to get it out of the New collection, you need to move it to the "Played" collection as @ht guy describes above.

You can also move movies from New to Played individually via the detail sheet on the OSD but for bulk moves, the browser interface is the fastest, easiest method.

thanks, all. Apparently I either forgot or never knew how the “new” collection worked for movies.
