Any graphic artists want to help with new forum art?

+1 on this one. The others where the boxes look all black do not do anything for me.

IMPORTANT: THIS SUBFORUM SLATED FOR REMOVAL

Seems reasonable. As of now, I think there are very few K components that don't work at all. The only one that comes to mind is the Powerfile vault. AFAIK, everything else like the 5U server, K-player 2500, K-reader, Cinema One (1st and 2nd gen), SpeedReader etc. can still be used as originally...

IMPORTANT: THIS SUBFORUM SLATED FOR REMOVAL

It seems wrong to just eliminate the knowledge contained in the existing posts. Also as a point of order, Kaleidescape does still support music imports on Premiere systems although new features are not being added and the database that recognizes CDs is no longer updated. Perhaps you could just...

What’s the future look like for concert videos?

It still seems like whatever it is called now, it does not rank very high in priority at UMG. This page has a link to the old Eagle Rock 'website' where the domain name has been taken over by squatters/scammers (don't click on it without javascript disabled)...

The Matrix Blu-ray - Play Movie and Scenes disappeared

No I have not changed the components my system for a few years now. I have never had a non-Region A M-class player attached either. Could it be possible that somehow a bit got flipped in the movie guide? It does show as a Region B disc in the details.... But if I remove the disc from the vault...

The Matrix Blu-ray - Play Movie and Scenes disappeared

I actually have purchased but not downloaded this movie from the store (d2d). Although not in this case, the digital/store version of a movie is often missing the special features. And as best I can tell there is no way to determine if the movie's trailers are included without downloading.

The Matrix Blu-ray - Play Movie and Scenes disappeared

On my system, The Matrix has lost the Play Movie and Scenes menu options. Another clue is present on a script that used one of the Scenes... It says: Unsupported region for the Shootout in the Lobby scene. I don't see any other movies with the same issue after a quick check. Could it be a glitch...

New kOS release supports disc cataloging on Strato

I think it was a cheeky suggestion about what would happen if trying to catalog a hopelessly un-supported medium was attempted. Something along the lines of Austin Powers trying to play a CD on his turntable:

Burning Downloaded MKV (Dolby Atmos) Files to Blu Ray Disc to Play in my Kaleidescape DV-700 Disc Vault?

BD-R discs can be read/imported. In the past I made my own "home movie" disc with some DTS and Dolby trailers found on thedigitaltheater .com. I used multiAVCHD v3.0 b729 (the last 3.0 version) and it works great. I had first tried using the latest 4.0 version but k would not play the disc. I...

    C1 g2 + kserver

On the server just move the content you don't want to replicate to the trash first. After replication, you can move the items you want to keep out of the trash and back into the library.

    C1 g2 + kserver

No but if there is enough space you could replicate the movies from the server to the C1. The server can only playback content through a player (K-5000, M-300, M-500, etc.) and not on a C1.

Running with Three Disks on KSERVER-1500

I asked this a while back and MikeKobb responded with the below. Basically the ability to play content is locked down in the case of a missing or failed disk. This is to prevent users from ignoring the failed disk message. But it is possible to have support override this (although not...

Bringing 3U up to date software/music/Disney

I have 8.9.0-23341 and there was no change to music support. Disney opt-in will not delete already imported content but it will prevent you from importing Disney content from DVD/BR going forward.

    Harvesting 3U drives for a 1U (?)

Hi John, Is this something that has changed in recent years? When I was following your previous guidance the drives that were removed (and the 3U shrunk it's filesystem without issue) were usable as 'spares'. I put one in another 1U that had a failed drive (which rebuilt the array successfully)...

    Harvesting 3U drives for a 1U (?)

Incorrect info... Read this for the gospel: https://www.kscapeowners.com/XF/threads/hot-spare-clarification.3777/post-34057 The hot spare (the one that the blue light blinks on and off) never gets written to until another drive fails. Until that happens it is 'blank' in the same sense as a new...

Disc to Digital: Blue Ray or DVD

That screen shot is what it looks like on a Cinema One. Here is the same movie in my store account. If I choose Blu-ray quality or DVD quality, the price goes down and matches what is shown in my first screenshot.

Is there is no truth-serum organization validating ethernet cable category speeds?

When I read your headline I actually thought of linking to that exact article :) To answer your question posed... In a word.. No. As the article states there is no enforcement arm for category cables like there is for say HDMI. Anyone with a twisting machine and an extruder can produce...

Disc to Digital: Blue Ray or DVD

The cost to convert depends on the pricing offered by the particular movie. Generally speaking however if you have the Blu-ray version, the discount will be greater than the DVD version of the same movie. You will be presented with what ever qualities that are available (SD, HD, UHD) and a...

Interview with K CEO at CEDIA 2022

I believe the 'review every frame' comment is more of a figure of speech to summarize the effort that goes into K creating their own encoding of the movie from the studio mezzanine file masters. This process was described somewhere and the TLDR version is that they don't just press a 'go' button...
