NEWS: Price Increase Coming July 1st.

Show me one "common" man that has 48 speakers in his theater. I know for a fact that Steven Spielberg doesn't have that in his home either. Some have money to burn and, burn it! Most of us have families and wives that would look at us cross-eyed to impose our will so much on their space (it...

NEWS: Price Increase Coming July 1st.

K has always been mostly a consumer product. So they have to adapt to consumer ways or be left behind. Today’s “average” consumer just isn’t going to spend $18k on a streaming device. Especially when they have to turn around and buy the media they want to see on it. C’mon K think!! If the...

NEWS: Price Increase Coming July 1st.

Opinion is one thing. Details is another. https://pcpartpicker.com/products/pricedrop/ These are the direct to consumer prices. Commercial prices and in bulk prices are quite a bit less. This is just one of about 45 free and paid metrics in this industry that can be used to determine...

NEWS: Price Increase Coming July 1st.

When I see price increases like this I chalk them up to simple greed. Supporting servers and PC’s in our enterprise (over a million endpoints), the cost just isn’t going up on these type components. With an annual budget $15M in our budget for refreshed systems and their various components...

NEWS: Price Increase on Some Components

NEWS: Price Increase on Some Components

This is sure to spur a lot of sales Jim. The “PC” parts everyone else is using keep getting cheaper. The easy manufacturing of these boards and parts is even more available now. It’s just my opinion. But with NetFlix, Apple TV, Roku, Hulu and Amazon Prime and others all streaming quality...

    Disc no longer recognized

Disconnect from the internet, import them manually, enter all meta data yourself. Eventually K will catch up and add it to the catalog. Why be hindered while waiting though? I’m not! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why is there no communication from Kaleidescape?

When you purchase you don’t purchase directly from K; you purchase from a dealer. Accordingly, your communication should be from your dealer. (At least i think that is their thinking). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    QUESTION for Premiere Owners

My issue with them offering an upgrade plan is that when companies do this, at times, it signals the end of support for previous products. I know K has put a tremendous amount of time, effort and money into the Premiere line and I know they would not make a decision like that lightly. But...

    Wired whole home audio system

I'd recommend Crestron. Crestron has a Sonnex® Multiroom Audio System (SWAMP-24X8) that I've had installed in my home. Its a fully-scalable audio distribution system that delivers high-output audiophile sound quality to every room with reduced cabling, low power consumption, advanced DSP. The...

    New Premire server announced!!

Is that upcharge really based on the drive size or the HW and K developed technology that uses that drive? Prices for drives have dropped significantly over the years. So, my assumption would be that the upcharge is more K charging for THEIR HW than the drive. Just my opinion though.

Might also help if you post the size of the drives and the warranty status.

    New Premire server announced!!

Just got a quote from a local Georgia K dealer and the upgrade takes about $2800 off of the MSRP that has already been posted here for the 18TB configuration (when trading in a 3U regardless of size) and about $4000 off of the MSRP for the 30TB configuration (when trading in a 3U regardless of...

    New Premire server announced!!

I'm referring to just the 10TB drives. The 6TB drives are available from K for all systems. I don't know if they sell the 10TB drives separate from the 1U+. Might not make as much sense to (from a $$$ bottom line standpoint), then people would merely upgrade their existing Premiere system...

    New Premire server announced!!

Answer to #1 The operating temperature range for most Seagate hard drives is 5 to 50 degrees Celsius. A normal PC case should provide adequate cooling. However, if your enclosure is unable to maintain this range, we suggest that you contact your system manufacturer for information on cooling...

    New Premire server announced!!

We got a presentation from Seagate and Western Digital this week on the enterprise usage of these new 10TB drives at our technology forum and they still meet the same SATA spec as all SATA drives. There is no discernable difference (except for actual READ/WRITE performance and controller...

    New Premier Firmware

I said it once and I'll say it again. I didn't ask for your agreement with my statement; don't frankly care if you agree. You have the right to disagree; don't care about that either. I stand by what I said. I never asked him to apologize. I expressed my opinion and that's it. Like it or...
