    Kaleidescape & Home Assistant

Keep in mind you can also add your AppleTV as an alternate trigger right in the same automation. It won't do credits, but it'll do play/pause/stop. I'm guessing a Roku, Amazon device, etc will also integrate into HA and the automation the same way, but I don't have any of those to test. Also of...

    Kaleidescape & Home Assistant

WRT #2, that's the beauty of Home Assistant. You can use any remote(s) you want to use. You're not tied to the remote selection sold by the manufacturer of your chosen control system. If you decide you don't like the remote you're using, just get a different remote from anyone. Sofabaton...

Lip Sync Test Disc in the Store

I always cringe when I see a band I love releasing a concert film produced by them. I can only think of a couple that are good. Steven Wilson's Home Invasion is one of them, and it's fantastic. Muse's Simulation Theory is also incredible. These are also artists who understand the value of...

Lip Sync Test Disc in the Store

Royal Albert is Mercury. Mercury absorbed Eagle Rock and relabeled everything. Crossroads is Stadium Media which I believe is basically a recording of the in-house camera system synced to a final mix, and I'm not sure the overall quality of their productions but I've had issues with that...

Lip Sync Test Disc in the Store

If they're Eagle Rock, that's the problem. Horrible, pedestrian concert film production, except for the Steven Wilson Home Invasion show - which I'm sure he had a large part in himself. Eagle Rock uses cheap cameras with small sensors and have released a ton of stuff with audio out of sync.

Is there a "preferred" automation system?

If you are at all capable of basic "if this, then that" type logic in a graphic interface, I have been loving using Home Assistant. It's an inexpensive solution that can handle all backend automation using triggers from your Kaleidescape or any other smart device/sensor you want to connect...

Movie Updates now bundling in Bonus Content?

I wouldn't want them to ignore it either, but it's two separate teams. The content team should be working to include any available bonus content, and the kOS team could be implementing the ability to select "always download bonus content" or "require manual download of bonus content".

Movie Updates now bundling in Bonus Content?

I would love the option to tell my system globally to NOT download 'bonus content' unless I specifically select it. I used to enjoy that stuff. These days I have a hard enough time trying to watch the films, I can't remember the last time I watched behind the scenes content in the theater.

No Disk to Digital Credit in Bundles?

The simpler question, because sale pricing windows often coincide on many titles across multiple digital platforms, I'm going to guess that studios offer up sale opportunities and storefronts can choose whether to pass those offers along or decline. As for who determines the offer price, I'm...

No Disk to Digital Credit in Bundles?

Keep in mind, you own them on disc, not the Kaleidescape platform. You're not converting anything to digital, in all honesty. You're being offered a discount to buy it again based on a previous purchase. Because Kaleidescape did not receive any share of the purchase price of your disc, it's not...

    Unfolded Circle Remote 3

Obviously overall cost is a big one. The fact that the Remore 2/3 can integrate VERY tightly with Home Assistant makes them almost infinitely flexible and expandable.

    Unfolded Circle Remote 3

I had the NEEO via Kickstarter and it was great hardware, never quite finished software before selling to Control 4. It never worked again after that announcement. A quiet firmware update in the middle of the night locked it up. I do like my Remote Two. Great hardware. Excited for the updated...

    Unfolded Circle Remote 3

They've already developed and shipped 3 remotes successfully, just haven't ever scaled up. This remote has had overwhelming support and as @josh mentioned, they've already begun the early stages of manufacturing it. Once it delivers, even if the team stops working on it, the remote will work and...

    Last movie watched

I grew up not watching Bond. I can’t remember when I saw my first Bond but ive seen them all. I prefer Connery’s portrayal, but Craig is a very close second and the Craig movies are just more enjoyable to me as a one-off viewing.

Watched Blackberry last night due to high marks here. I thought the story was very interesting, but the movie itself was average. We just watched Kinds of Kindness. Bizarre and fun.

    Movies on Sale...

The value of a movie that doesn’t require complete immersion and simply makes you chuckle, giggle, or laugh out loud is so understated. Oftentimes after a long day at work I don’t have the mental energy to watch Memento or Dune.

    Movies on Sale...

It's just one of those movies that people love to make fun of. But it made 6+x its budget at the box office. It's a fun movie for any audience. Not everything needs to be Citizen Kane.
