Audio Dropouts Strato C

I have a Strato C connected to an Anthem AVM 90 and then on to a JVC NZ 8 projector. Also connected to the AVM 90 are a Nvidia Shield and a Panasonic blu ray player. Sometimes after switching inputs on the AVM 90 to the shield and back to the Strato when I play content on the Strato I get Audio dropouts every 30 - 120 seconds. I have found that if I go to the components page for the system and Restart the Strato after it goes through the restart process it will be OK. Is there a faster/ better way to do this? Is there some setting I may have wrong to prevent this? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Does it happen ONLY when you've watched the Shield before selecting the Strato C?

What HDMI cables are you using, and how long are they?

First test I would try is when it occurs, disconnect the Shield's HDMI cable and see if that solves the issue.

I am not certain that it happens only then, but I was able to duplicate it by doing so. The cables are:

Monoprice 8K Certified Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 Cable - 8K@60Hz, 48Gbps, CL2 In-Wall Rated, 30AWG, Dynamic HDR and Dolby Vision, Supports eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) 6 Feet - Black

I had changed cable, same type but different physical cable, and changed input on the anthem but the problem came back. I will try your suggestion. Thank you for responding.

Glad to hear I am not alone! Good morning everyone…I am new to the forum and have just set up my theater. I have the same setup, AVM90 and NZ8 and am experiencing what sounds like the same issue. About every 10 seconds, the audio drops for about two to three seconds. Someone told me it was an EDIC issue? If I unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back in, it solves the problem?

I also use a Trinnov AV Processor and have encountered similar issues. Trinnov suggested powering on the TV or projector first, followed by other devices, with the processor being the last to power on. Although I haven’t logged any dropouts yet, I'll need more time to determine if this method is effective. Given today's advanced electronics, it's surprising how sensitive HDMI boards are. I'm considering upgrading my processor's HDMI board from 2.0 to 2.1, hoping that the newer version will improve the handshake reliability. Im pretty sure though as soon as I change sources, this method is moot, time will tell.
