TCL 115 inch mini-LED TV

Make that 21:9 and 5K then there will be a very little reason to buy a projector (excluding mega high end ones). What do you think?

Too tiny. However, good choice for a media room.
You don´t need 21:9 format for a TV, since you the black bars for scope content will be black anyways. A 16:9 TV is the perfect canvas for all kinds of content - even variable AR movies.

Indeed it is but we are getting there. Though with CIH, I think most projector screens get about 100“-120” when viewing 1.78:1 content with each side masked, would you not agree?

It’s TCL….. the image quality will be poor.
I just like the fact that it exists. I think 120“-125” screen size decent quality displays at reasonable price points (under $20k) are a possibility within this decade.

Hm, we´re mostly aiming for minimum of 4m (~155") screen width, which means you´ll end up at around 135" diagonale for 1.78:1 content.
But i agree, i think for the majority of installations, you might be right.

If it’s not acoustically transparent I don’t want it.
We´re just about to complete an install with a large screen (currently 100", but 120" will be possible with some small adjustments) in January. It´s not 100% dialed in yet, but i´s already one of our best sounding installations we did so far.

Hi Zwei!

Apologise for OT question. I have an Alt32 and a centre speaker below screen, canted to MLP microphone. The positioning is near perfect and the centre audio imaging seems spot on WRT the screen. I have left that as is, but I do have a second identical speaker for a possible above screen equidistant to MLP, but it is significant work to install.. Did you cant any of those centre speakers? Any special consideration for comb filtering, or other, please?

Thank you very much

FURY
