My New Tech/AV/HT Endeavor - Techthusiasm

Hi folks,

I wanted to share something I've been working on the last couple of months related to technology, audio/video, home theater, and such. I started a YouTube channel called Techthusiasm at the link below:

I have been releasing content steadily and have lots of plans going forward, including ideas related to Kaleidescape, hopefully with some more formal collaboration opportunity as well.

It's been an interesting experience getting comfortable on camera and learning how to do this. I started pretty simple with just my phone and a small tripod, figured out the graphics and such, and am now recording with a much higher quality dedicated camera and mic setup. I'm hoping to keep the channel growing and moving forward, so please check it out, watch, like, subscribe, and so on if you're interested and would like to lend support. It would be much appreciated!

If anyone has content thoughts, collaborative ideas, or whatnot as well, do let me know.

Thanks!

Congrats Jaremy! (Realizing I never knew your actual name before!)
I subscribed and I like it very much. Well- organized and clear. I’ll be watching for future episodes!
Your latest episode hasn’t yet convinced me to go PC for gaming, as I just can’t handle yet another system in my home that needs tuning, patches, upgrades, drivers… just for the occasional game. Console makes more sense for me as I’m not a huge gamer. Need to just turn it in and it works. Mlooking forward to more of your videos.

Already subscribed, nice job Buddy!

Best of luck with the site!

Jim

I do PC gaming with my son (normally Xbox and sometime PS for myself). I started gaming early with PCs and it was nightmare for the reasons you state. The primary difference these days are platforms like Steam. They take care of a lot of those issues. Still not perfect but have never had an issue like the old days….o_O

Consoles are the simplest. And with Xbox X and PS5, you are getting great performance!

Thanks, guys! I'll post more here when I have specific Kaleidescape-oriented content to share.

@josh I have a "why PC is terrible for gaming" video already recorded for next week. That'll help keep you on consoles for sure. :)

Many folks here already have their Kaleidescape devices, but folks considering buying come here too. So I made an unboxing for the Strato S I just bought. Check it out.

Spun out a quick video for the channel regarding the CEDIA news from K. Just short basic overview. Most folks here are in the know already, but I will post here about K-focused videos from the channel nonetheless.

New video on theater automation talking about Control4 and a bunch of Kaleidescape use. I plan to make specific videos shortly about how to program Control4 and Kaleidescape for various control features.

Just in time for lunch content!

I tried to keep an iPad mini as a remote option for Harmony, Home and Music Streaming. It is a challenge to keep it functional with limited storage.

If I can figure out enough tasks to give it, Control4 might start to make more sense. Neo looks like a nice remote.

I’m interested to hear your thoughts on the Trinnov. It’s way out of my price range, but I can dream. I’m in the market for a processor, but my budget is more in the Denon/Marantz range.

I need wides, so I was leaning towards The AVR-X6700 (in pre-amp mode) or the AV8805A, but D&M really dropped the ball with their 2020 lineup.

Dropped this video after participating in the comments of the livestream. Yeah, it has room for improvement and there's stuff we all want to see them do, but I don't think folks get how important K might be to the future of high fidelity home entertainment.
