Watching movies while downloading?

Don’t recall this being an issue, but am current an and stated to watch a movie had. the Movie has been buffering and displaying “difficulty reading movie”. Is this likely due to the downloads or perhaps simply a corrupt movie file?

Looks like the iPad jumbled this question. Anyway, I have a Terra and Strato. I am currently downloading movies and am trying to watch a movie I already had in the library. It’s buffer a few times and displayed the message in the top right corner. I stopped the movie, but was curious if it may be indicatIve of the file or is it due to the downloading as well?

Does it do this behavior when your not downloading? If not, might be network traffic.

Usually network related, but that could mean anything.....I've also seen this when a drive was failing (not completely failed, but riding the threshold). Always best to record the time you were viewing and the title and pass that on to support so they can check your system.

It may have been simple network jitters. I paused all the remaining downloads and restarted the movie and it played fine. about 3/4 of the way through the movie, I resumed the downloads and no issues. I’m also coming to near the end of the Terra capacity (inside 10% remaining) so maybe something with that as well.

This certainly shouldn't happen. One of the benefits of having a Terra in the system is that you can download (at high speed!) while watching a movie. It's certainly possible that there is a bug, but I would also want to rule out any issues with your cables, network switches, etc. Depending upon your broadband speed, the Terra could have been pretty much maxing out the gigabit connection on its Ethernet port, and so if there is anything at all marginal in the network, it could cause problems.

If the problem is reproducible, I'd suggest getting in touch with our support folks to investigate.
