Latest KoS Version & Changelog?

Flash is dead now anyway.......

Jim
Everyone hated on Steve Jobs for not allowing Flash on the original iPhone, especially Adobe. I don't agree with everything Apple does but that was and has proved to be a brilliant decision.

Yup, over the years it was obvious the tech had limitations, and it was being utilized far less by developers recently.

I was a big Apple guy in the early years, had the Apple I, the Apple II (loved it), and the III until mine was recalled. Then the "Lisa." Interesting note about the Lisa's GUI: Jobs was inspired by the GUI developed by Xerox for their "Alto," and he used the basic tech in developing the GUI for the Lisa. Incredibly gifted guy. Those were some fun days, we all looked forward to the fast moving changes to computers during those years!

Mike Kobb can we get an update here on the latest update? Looks to be a fairly significant one based on the numbering. Thanks

My system updated and came back and told me it restored movies from a failed drive. But the drive was replaced months ago. I had already done the restoration. Strange. SJ

Yes, I also received that message on a Strato client, and also resolved quite awhile ago.

The K iOS app has been updated as well to version 1.4 and one of new features is “Added support for managing restoration of movies due to hard drive failure” It is most probably linked to this.

I had contact with Mike today, he's just very busy, but we will put a "sticky" thread on the Forum shortly that will allow Mike (or other K Rep) to comment on Software updates.

Wonder if they can just have a change/version log on their website. Lots of companies do this... SJ

Thanks to John for confirming my non-demise. Sorry for the lack of reply -- as noted, iOS 1.4 just released and I've been 100% focused on finishing up the corresponding work on the Android app.

As John noted, we're not quite ready to announce anything regarding 10.9 yet, but when we are, I'll use the new thread that Jim has pinned for that purpose.

Yep, that was my expectation as well. It's smart to push the update out first, then launch the feature.

Starting tomorrow, movie rental will be available on Strato systems. Like purchased movies, Kaleidescape rentals are downloaded in full resolution, not streamed.

Kaleidescape customers will have 30 days to start watching rented movies. Once they start watching, they will have 48 hours to enjoy the movie. Note that a rented movie can be downloaded to only one home at a time, and watched on only one player at a time. If a customer decides to purchase a rented movie within 30 days of the rental transaction, half the rental price will be applied toward the purchase.

Please read our FAQ to learn more about this new feature.

Here is the FAQ regarding rentals.

I’m disappointed by this line: “Note, however, that a movie may be available for purchase in 4K but only available to rent in HD.”

Hopefully that’s not the case very often. I imagine it’s a studio by studio, and time windowed kinda thing. But that’s speculation on my part.
