    I guess if they stay in business they will be around to fix broken systems but there's no guarantee that our systems won't update themselves to prevent dvd playback without the disc present.

    Sounds like that's the best case right now. Worst case is that Kaleidescape issues a software update for all systems in use (whenever sold) stopping us from playing back imported dvds when the dvd itself is not present. We can't stop the updates coming (unless we take away net access).

    Region A for Region B M300 swap

    I live in the UK, but come to Minnesota a couple of times a year. I bought an M500 and two M300s (all region B). Should have bought one region A player to allow region A playback from any of the new Blu Ray players.

    NEWS: Kaleidescape M700 Disc Vault announced

    M700 and Meridian I have not read anywhere that it will decode Dolby True HD internally and pass them though as LPCM. Am I correct to assume it does'nt?

    The Beatles CDs Stereo/Mono

    I just imported my mono Sergeant Pepper (or so I thought). It shows on my import list but is not shown as a new album and did not overwrite my existing stereo version of the album. I just listened to the album and I definitely still have the stereo vesion on my K system.
