    Alto to Strato strategy

The Cataloged titles will remain in your account as soon as you add the Strato all the cataloged titles will be there.. Remember that the Alto has a 4TB hard drive that you can paired with the Strato but the hard drive from the Alto will only allow SD and HD downloads.

Help - Opinion on Strato S - Would appreciate feedback

Yes I also ran both the Panasonic and the Kaleidescape directly into the JVC NX9. I was actually evaluating the Lumagen as it’s a new piece of my system. I thought it was the Lumagen at first. I also checked out the stream of the movie on AppleTV and The issue was not there.

Help - Opinion on Strato S - Would appreciate feedback

I agree I enjoy everything about the Kaleidescape but this should be addressed be it an encode issue with the file or a problem with the player.

Yes I am running both players identical via a Lumagen.

Help - Opinion on Strato S - Would appreciate feedback

Question for Kalidecape users, What is most important to you? Is it the convenience that the Kalidecape offers or is it to get the best video and audio performance ? I love the convenience of my Strato but if the video and audio is not on par with the performance of a disc with my Panasonic 9000...

Lumagen Lock mode for Auto Aspect and Scope OSD with Strato

Hi Kris, I have a Stewart 16:99 screen with 4 way masking that I can control with a IR signal. Can the Lumagen control the Stewart masking with this Auto Aspect ratio feature when using the Strato?

Help - Opinion on Strato S - Would appreciate feedback

I have an Oppo 205 and a Panasonic UB9000 plus the Strato S. There is no scale number that makes it better. They are all outstanding players. The Strato is just a different way of viewing quality content. A quality Blu Ray Player will also be fantastic. I am hoping that the shiny disc will...

    GEMINI MAN 60Hz ?

If you like the High Frame Rate effect then purchase the Blu-ray. Gemini Man was shot in high frame rate. I personally like both but the movie is not one of my favorites.;)

Star Wars-A New Hope / UHD or HDR

Noted. What type of display will you be doing your A/B? I am pleased with the internal frame adapt tone mapping that the JVC NX9 is doing with HDR. I agree an external box can improve HDR but again it will be to taste as there is no standard.

Star Wars-A New Hope / UHD or HDR

I absolutely love HDR especially when the studios make the effort of properly grading the film. I don't believe its an issue with the projector or the calibration. The new tone mapping on the JVC is fine. I have my JVC NX9 paired with a 100"Stewart 1.3 gain screen which is outputting over 107...

Star Wars-A New Hope / UHD or HDR

Thanks for the response. I agree the increase in the gamut for most titles is preferred. But to me the HDR Star Wars doesn’t seem to really take advantage of the higher gamut and its also causing the image to look darker than the UHD version. Im not using a Lumagen for my JVC NX9. I am using the...

Star Wars-A New Hope / UHD or HDR

Hi Kris, Have you compared the Star Wars A New Hope in HDR with your calibrated Lumagen NX9 combo against the UHD only version? If so what did you prefer?

Star Wars-A New Hope / UHD or HDR

When I downloaded the HDR version it gave me the option to select the UHD also. I have both versions at the moment but I really like the UHD version.
