    Things are moving fast in the AV world at the moment. Immersive sound formats, oled tvs and 4K hooting its honker. 4K players are due out before the end of the year but will there be anything to play on them? I am just guessing but I would expect next year will be a busy time in the world of...

    How long until we get these in a 1U/3U chassis?

    New 3U servers are now rated at 15 zones of BR. When I first checked bandwidth they were rated at 5 zones (if my memory is correct) later it was 9 zones and now 15. I suspect something has changed in those servers but its probably a secret. More oomph and memory?

    NEWS: NBC Universal Now in the Store!!

    There is more than Paramount missing in the UK. Last time I looked we hadn't quite hit the Big 500 for the number of films available to download. The store does appear to have a unique feature among retailers of tv shows.... only 7 out 10 seasons of Friends are available. I can't think of...

    US Releases for September & October

    Couple of friends saw it at the cinema. "Ok" and "Not as bad as I thought it was going to be" were the reviews. A "streamer" rather than a "keeper"?

    Kaleidescape To Deliver 4K

    I suppose only time will tell. From my own experience the difference between streamed 4K and BR is marginal. I am hoping a physical disc will give a better viewing experience.

    From what I have read "grandfarthering" is not geographically dependent. I imagine many owners are not aware of forthcoming changes for new systems.

    Different region discs

    Once a DVD has been successfully imported it can be played back regardless of the player region setting.
