On another note I bought the bundle(Scream 3, 4 and the 2022 one) 10’ ago. In the meantime this one has been upgraded to 4K HDR and guess what - I am not entitled to get the $6.99 price… LOL

I'm in the same boat, I emailed K Support about it. I suggest you do the same.

On pre-order:
From Warner
From A24 Films

An adult ticket to the theaters in my area is $19, kids $16, so if I were to take my family it would cost me about $90, and we get to watch it one-time, along with $8 popcorn,$7 junior mints, and 16oz caramel colored sugar water for $7, but I guess that's fair considering we also get to hang with the neighborhood, and enjoy the Mystery Science 3000 narration at no cost.

I know I'm giving all that up, but I think I'll pay the $40.

Yeah, I will pay the $40 also. My issue is that Warner just seems to be out alignment with the other major studios. It will likely follow all of their top movies. Starts at $40, drops to $35 after a month, then goes on sale 6 months later at $25. Disney’s highest price movie is $25….

I figured, that wasn't actually aimed at you, just my justification for paying the $40, but I do agree their pricing could be better!

I think at $40 it was pushing it for Batman but I paid it but with a slight wince rather than a smile. Thankfully the movie was a good one and with 4 of us watching it, I have just pushed it to the back of my mind but I haven't bought Elvis yet for the same reason and probably wouldn't buy Black Adam either. I will wait until they are on offer or reduced unless a guest arrives that is desperate to see one of them. I question their thinking about pricing Black Adam at that level. Not an established character and as popular as the Rock is, it seems a stretch. But I accept that it's a personal thing. If it doesn't feel right/good, don't do it. It's not an issue of affording it, more an issue of it feeling of value to the buyer. I could watch it at inferior quality as it will be widely available elsewhere and I can't imagine this is a movie I will watch more than once whereas Batman will be revisited I know.

Not worth going around the whole pricing issue again but I do wonder what drives the Warner studio thinking on this. A reasonable price to me still seems to be $25 for a new movie, $30 maybe for the big blockbusters at release and then an appropriate drop in price over time for all movies plus sales etc.. Would make pricing a non issue for the market in general. Obviously the lower that is set the more movies would be bought. Another thought is that many of us are instinctive 'collectors'. So we will buy good movies at a decent price although we may never get around to watching them. (I have a lot of DVD/Blu-rays that prove that theory and already have a bunch of K movies I may never watch on K - doh!). In truth is the K market big enough to occupy any real amount of time and isn't it more likely that they want to hold prices high for when they offer everything direct themselves?

You're certainly not alone in your thinking @Oldred. You'll have to wait for some future sale once the initial demand eases. Unfortunately this usually happens (if it happens at all) after the demand eases on all streaming platforms as well.

Does anyone know if Kino Lorber 4K titles like The Usual Suspects and Dressed to Kill will come to Kaleidescape? Just ordered my system (hopefully arriving soon), and had cancelled my Amazon orders for these titles. They release this coming week in physical media but don't see them on the store. Really hope I can stop buying physical media as much as possible.

The KL 4k titles have been taking a little while before they show up on K.

The last few added to K were MIsery (KL on 10/2021), The Apartment (KL on 3/2022), Few Dollars More, Fist Full of Dollars (KL on 5/2022) Good Bad and Ugly (KL 4/2021) and The Great Escape (KL on 1/2022)

Thanks for the information! It’s good to hear that they most likely will make their way to K - just a bit of a wait.

Unless I’m missing something (which is entirely possible ), I believe both these titles are already available (at least in HD).

Check out Dressed to Kill on Kaleidescape!

Check out The Usual Suspects on Kaleidescape!
