Came across this news: Game of Thrones in 4K is coming to HBO Max
Is there a chance that GoT could be released in 4K in K as well?

It is run by a group of enthusiastic Kaleidescape owners and dealers purely as a service to this community.

GoT seasons were shot digitally with 4K to 8K cameras, CGI elements were created in 2K and the entire show was edited in the 2K workflow. The 4K physical media releases are sourced from these 2K masters and up-converted to 4K therefore offers very minimal improvement (if any). I would think it’s a waste of storage space to have them in 4K.
I say YES to a Bundle Price...How do you think they will price the 4K versions? $35 a piece without sale?
First season looked very subtle to me, not the best use of HDR. Same for Westworld. Later Westworld seasons looked recognizably improved. I didn’t watch GoT beyond the first season.I have the Blu-ray’s and the 4ks - the 4k is significantly better looking. I’m just too lazy to get up and change the damn disks every 3 episodes …. I want K to take my money soon!
So the streaming services do get the digital 4k version, that's good news. For those interested, $50 for all 8 seasons in 4k on VUDU.
If interested, here's a Twitter thread about a presentation Discovery CEO did last night on the future of HBO Max and Discovery+. Time will tell, but he has ideas rooted in reality TV (which is what Discovery does) and not "prestige" content (which is what HBO has always done.)HBO Max is dead now. How is this going to effect Kaleidescape?
Why would it have any effect on Kaleidescape?HBO Max is dead now. How is this going to effect Kaleidescape?
