Quicker switching

Maybe I'm just late to the party, but in case not, wanted to let folks know that using the Second Screen app to hop between discs in a multi-volume set dramatically speeds-up the transition. Even if you aren't waiting for the projector to swap back-and-forth from content-to-menu-to-content, the lack of any changing by the player also cuts the time down a lot (I'm finding it cuts the time roughly in half,) so it would probably work just as well for any other content (as long as you aren't changing between resolutions/features.)

It would be nice if we could directly swap discs using a selection in the Navigation section of the pop-up menu, and it's a little inconvenient if you normally use something else, but a workaround for those who are interested.

Out of curiosity, what are you switching to on the other discs?

Interesting

So are you recommending two Ipads logged into the same player using the kaleidescape app halvs your switching if you keep alternating Ipads after each entry ??

I've been using/testing it with UPC-only discs, so usually just hopping to the next volume in the set to skip going back and hitting play on the next disc (worked well with the six-volume set I watched Sunday, and for better or worse they played right into content - just wish I had some easy/instant way to fix the disc labeling when those are discovered to be off.)

No, one iPad is enough. The trick is just to bypass the step of going back to the K interface onscreen between content. If you don't normally navigate or make selections via the onscreen interface, then it doesn't make much of a change, but I don't usually hunt what to watch on Second Screen.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, we've tried to make the playback options popup provide access to everything that's bookmarked so that you don't have to drop back out to the OSD if you don't want to, but if content isn't bookmarked, there's no way to make that association, and Second Screen is a great option.
