Greenland isn’t rentable anywhere yet. It’s still too new, it’s within the purchase only time frame that studios have, usually corresponding to when a movie comes out first digitally as purchase only, and then becomes available for rental digitally at the same time the physical Blu-ray disc is released a few weeks later. Assuming that follows here, it should be rentable on Feb 9th.

"purchase it within 30 days of the rental transaction, half the rental price will be applied toward the purchase."

What about PVOD titles, say I rent Fatale today, it should available to purchase in March, then probably 30 days will have passed since I rented and it's available to purchase in the store. Will PVOD has some special arrangement that you can buy within X days when they are available regardless of the time passed from PVOD rental?

“Greenland“ is from STX Entertainmnet which does not have any rentals available on the Store.

All the major studios have rentals available except for MGM. As far as I can tell none for the minor studios have rentals - at least so far...

Relativity Media should be in as well but only one movie is available for the time being.

When I rented Antebellum as PVOD I do not recall being offered a better price when it became available for sale. But this may have now changed.

I have this same question. Thank you.

Premium rentals (PVOD titles) are great because they give you access to the earliest window we can offer. Unfortunately, this early window means they are not eligible for the credit toward purchase.

Being serious now, I don't know the actual answer, but I suspect not. K is likely already giving up its end of the rental by allowing a subsequent purchase discount, so it would make no financial sense. Where would it stop? If someone rented 3 times K could now be "out-of-pocket" on a subsequent purchase. That's the logic I see, but as my wife occasionally reminds me, I'm not always right.

Jim
If you rent a movie twice do you get more store credit towards the purchase?
I can confirm - renting a single film more than once will not build up credit toward purchase of that movie.

Thanks for clarifying Luke.

I've just noticed a couple of titles from Twentieth Century, "The Aftermath" and "Tolkien" that are rental only - no purchase available - for $7.95. They are both from 2019, and not listed in the premium rental collection. Is this something new where we will see titles for rent only? If I do rent one of these, and it later becomes available for purchase, will I get half the rental price as credit?

Our Content Operations team is working to get a number of Twentieth Century and Disney titles relicensed for purchasing (as opposed to just rental). An update to the store catalog due to go out later today should make these titles purchasable again.

Does the - "purchase it within 30 days of the rental transaction, half the rental price will be applied toward the purchase."
Apply to Wrath of the Man - I rented it on 17th June and would like to buy it now as it is out for purchase.... do I get a discount for renting a week ago?

Did you try it? (Try processing to see your final price, you can always cancel.....)

I believe that was considered an early release "premium rental", and unfortunately, but understandably, those aren't included in the rental -> purchase discount program.
