109 Discs Awaiting Ejection

Hi

I just tried to watch a movie and noticed it was greyed out. Scrolling through the list I noticed a number of them greyed out.

Having just checked the web interface it says a 109 discs are awaiting ejection and each on in the menu says insert disc.

What can cause this....that is a lot of discs!!

Thanks

Adam

This can happen from time to time. I've never gotten an reason for it, but it is usually attributed to an optical drive reading issue, if it doesn't read a disc correctly, it will tell you to eject it. I'm sure you've tried powering off (unplugging power) for a minute and trying again. I'd still contact Support directly, obviously could be something else.

Thanks Jim

Have now resinserted all the discs but 3 won't be recognised. One was installed in 2013, 2 others are the kids favourites...typical!

Is K hardware becoming more frail (as a result of cost cutting) or just due to age as the number of failures seem to be getting higher (drives, etc). It used to be that your hardly heard of drive failures.

Frustrated as wanted to watch a film and spent the evening ejecting 109 BluRays and then reinserting.

I'd try checking them in another player. Quite often I find the discs themselves are failing as they age. Don't believe those little inserts telling you how the disc was manufactured to the exacting specifications of an almighty power (so any problems must be with the player.)

Thanks Jim

Adam,

This happened to me 3-4 years ago, I never understood why. All 320 discs had to be ejected. Frustrating I know.....
Only happened once so I did not investigate any further but 5 discs were never recognized again in any of my three vaults (2 DV700 & 1 M700). They nevertheless played fine from my Oppo.

And now they have....random!

May be a drive failing in the M700. Are they easy to replace?

I agree, could be the drive, not hard to replace, but also agree with the comments above that some bad discs might be the root cause. Every once in awhile I get a "must eject a disc" message in one of my Vaults. These usually come after the periodic inventory completes a cycle.
