Article in today's WSJ indicates disarray among the major studios for this initiative and suggests that Disney in particular is opposed, which would not be surprising given their history.

I hope watermarking is mandated, I am tired of listening to people tell me they have HD/UHD movies from torrents

Late to this discussion here, but I read the initial article a couple of months ago, and was very hopeful. I just wanted to chime in here and cast my vote in the affirmative for this, if it's able to be brought to market. We already have the hardware, and the ecosystem is locked down enough for it to be relatively "easy" to implement (not saying it's flipping a switch, but we could just have downloads with limited playback lives), so bring it on! I think $100-150 would be accepted by most owners for a one-time showing. I wouldn't personally do it every week, or every month, but for big stuff, you know I would!
