I hear you.

I did a major remodel a couple of years ago. My theater is all HDMI, but I used analog distribution (component HD video + stereo audio) to my other viewing zones. I anticipated the need for future digital distribution, so I ran dual Cat6 cables to every location where I have a TV, plus an empty low-voltage conduit that home runs to my equipment rack. There are few things as future-proof as conduit (provided somebody doesn't come out with a connector that's too big to pull through it!!).
