Default Movie Database Bookmarking - Higher hitrate coming soon?

Since I got my new 3U server, I have loaded hundreds of new movies and some older stuff I didn't want to tie up my old servers with and as a result, I figured I needed to make sure I got all my titles that were missing video bookmarks into their system.

It is taking them a long time to do it - way longer than ever before. I was told that they are backlogged a lot on that as their queue is pretty full.

I suspect that adding BluRay to the system is one cause, as the hit rate on my BluRays was lower than DVD so they are probably getting a lot of them in now. Also, the "missing video bookmarks" list made it very easy to find the older titles I had that were missing from my database. Finally, they are possibly going back over their library for all the music titles and bookmarking each of the songs as well.

I did notice that a couple times, I had a title in the missing video bookmarks drop off the list as they were added by somebody else sending in their titles.

I suspect that over the course of the next few months, we should see an even higher hit rate on our films being imported. My collection was missing 85 video bookmarks out of about 1210 titles. My hit rate on DVD is better than BluRay, with video DVDs ranking lowest on success for video bookmarking.

That's a pretty good rate. I need to fire off an email to start the process up and lower my missing rate. Shame to hear about the backlog, but giving priority to BDs makes sense, as someone is likely out the ability to play it as a result of the loan.

It will auto update. No need to reinstall.

My new M500 player finally arrived at my dealer, for which I need to pick it up. My question is will the K-servers automatically download to my new player the new higher bit rate covers (if they exist, of course)? I really am excited about this feature as I had always been disappointed with the current stanard def coverart.

That's correct - my understanding is that K has been going back to old covers and re-digitizing them at higher resolutions. I believe the ones for the last year or two have already been scanned at higher resolutions to begin with.

Thanks Josh for confirming my own suspicion. I was beginning to doubt my own eyes. Many of my "classic" 80s films do not look like they've been updated yet.
