What Is This Place?
The Kaleidescape Owners' Forum (KOForum) is a place where owners and users of Kaleidescape media servers can gather to share advice, learn from each other, and discuss the products and how we use them.

Is this site administered or run by Kaleidescape, Inc.?
Ummm.... have you somehow missed the bright red text all over the site? ;)

The answer is no, THIS SITE IS NOT OWNED BY, OPERATED BY, OR AFFILIATED IN ANY WAY WITH KALEIDESCAPE INC.
It's run by a passionate user and I have no affiliation with Kaleidescape, Inc.

What's a Kaleidescape?
Kaleidescape is set of products and services that act as a residential audio/video server, allowing users to store their personal CDs and DVDs and easily access them throughout their house.

For more information about what Kaleidescape is and does, visit the company's website at www.kaleidescape.com.

Do Kaleidescape employees/engineers visit or participate here?
I have no idea, but I'm guessing if any of them want to participate and wish to make it known that they work for the company, they'll do so. If any of them register as users here and don't wish it to be known that they work for the company, I'll respect their wishes.

I have met some Kaleidescape employees and if I see things posted here that I think would interest them, I may let them know.

That's dumb.
You're lazy.
It's too expensive.
Product {X} does all that for 1/10 the price.
...(and similar 'questions'/statements)
Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Users here find that the combination of the user interface, data service, and overall engineering that make up the product provides value to us. But you'll find others who disagree and share your opinion. We invite you to participate in those spirited debates at places like AVS Forums (an excellent resource for all types of A/V product discussions).

I hope users here will answer any questions politely and in a helpful manner, but this board is not intended as a place to debate whether or not the system is worth the money or performs as well as {System X} with owners or advocates of those systems. This board is meant as a resource for owners of the system to share thoughts and ideas for its usage. Those discussions may be interesting and helpful to non-owners, but I hope they'll participate in the manner intended.

The moderators have the right to remove posts that are not in keeping with the intent of this board.
